Oregon Coast Engagement | Monica & Ric

This blog has been more challenging to write, while oddly enough, Monica & Ric are some of my closest friends!

Monica is my kindred spirit, a friend who only lived near me for a short while, but made an impact so deep that now we make one annual trip to see each other. She worked for the National Park Service as a seasonal employee doing various jobs – I can’t even remember them all! From Maryland to Utah, Washington and now Oregon, I’ve followed her around the country as she switched parks.

One summer I came out to Arches National Park in Utah. Monica began telling me about this group of friends she had, getting particularly giddy when mentioning one fellow, Ric. As the National Park romance brewed with their adventurous dates, it was very soon after I heard about Ric that I knew he’d be in Monica’s life forever.

Fast forward to today. They’ve relocated to Oregon, engaged and very happy in the new life they’re creating. Monica & Ric are not flashy people. With their simple yet adventurous spirit, they decided to have a micro wedding this fall with only their parents at a park in Washington state.

It broke my heart I couldn’t celebrate their marriage on the day they’re actually getting married. But as a fabulous alternative, my annual trip to see them in Oregon turned into an engagement session on the coast! I brought Blair along to make it a fun couples trip, with a lot of good food, great sights and quality late night conversations. I’m so blessed and honored to have the opportunity to capture this snippet in their season of engagement.

Oregon is beautiful, but it’s too far away! I love you both and wish you nothing but happiness. Thank you for letting me capture these memories for you.
