Wedding photography is full of so much love, and in my home state of Maryland, I get to capture so many sweet weddings! Every wedding I photograph, I walk away with a full heart . . . but Gabby and Ryan’s wedding sticks out among the many!
In the world we live in today, it’s normal to find the love of your life online. I’ve done the dating apps! Most of the couples I work with have met through one of them. They’re a great way to meet people you wouldn’t meet otherwise! Still, among all of the love stories I’ve heard, I don’t think I’ve heard one quite so sweet as this couple’s! Their story is so sweet and I talk all about it on on their engagement blog. But this blog is about Gabby and Ryan finally tying the knot, and every beautiful moment of their special day!
Gabby and Ryan’s families are both religious. Scripture readings from the moms, private prayers from the fathers, and worship songs from the bride’s sister permeated the ceremony. The wedding was so special, and both sides of the family contributed to creating an intimate and impactful start to Gabby and Ryan’s married life!
After the wedding, the reception began! Both the father of the bride, and the father of the groom made speeches during the reception. Ryan’s dad served as his best man, which made the usual “best man” speech a bit more personal!
Gabby’s dad gave a speech before the father-daughter dance. He grabbed the mic, and shuffled a stack of papers and told the guests “Don’t worry, it’s in eighteen-point font because I can’t see very well!”. Funny sure, but his speech was so precious as he described Gabby and what a wonderful person she is. I can vouch for that – Gabby was one of the sweetest brides I’ve ever worked with!
The father-daughter dance was one of the most unique ones I’ve ever seen! It started out with the normal slow and sentimental music and dance. After a minute the music changes, and they both start breakdancing! Gabby and her dad had a whole routine lined up and it was so comical, but a perfect testament to their personalities and relationship! They did eventually go back to the slow dance and it ended on a sentimental, and beautiful note.
Both families, though they were from different states, made for such a welcoming environment! Gabby and Ryan thanked everyone for traveling out for the wedding. They even listed off the states that everyone traveled from! Both Gabby’s family from Maryland, and Ryan’s from Arizona blended together so well, and now are bonded even closer through their children’s marriage! No distance kept either Ryan and Gabby, nor their families from becoming one!
Gabby and Ryan,
It was a pleasure to be part of your wedding, full of so much love! Thank you for allowing me to walk through this season and serve you two. May your marriage be blessed!
-Hugs, Ashley
