State Park Engagement | Gabby & Ryan

Who knew volunteering would result in Gabby & Ryan finding their soul mate?

In 2020, the elementary school where Gabby worked turned into a pantry for people in the community to come receive food, and she decided to volunteer to help. Ryan was a new Navy boy in town and also came that day to volunteer. As you can already guess, they ended up at the same station and immediately hit it off, talking for hours. When you know, you know. That day of volunteering changed their lives forever!

Fast forward a year later, Gabby & Ryan travel to Arizona to see his family. Like any smart woman, taking a trip away with her man made her wonder if he may propose. But she wanted her family to be there to share in that special moment, and them traveling to Arizona didn’t seem physically possible. But leave it to Ryan to keep his fiancé on her toes! During a photo shoot with Ryan’s family, Gabby was surprised to spot her family in the distance! Once she saw them, in shock, Gabby turned to see Ryan down on one knee! The rest is history 🙂

Our first meeting together, I got the pleasure of hearing this sweet love story. It immediately melted my heart and made me incredibly excited to work with these two! Their wedding is quickly approaching so there was no time to waste in waiting for spring to appear. However, the thought of a March photo session made me nervous. If you live in Maryland, you know what I mean! As I write this, it’s 38 degrees outside with leftover snow on the ground from the 5 inches we got dumped a few days ago, a week after this session when it was a glorious 70 degrees! BUT Gabby had fate on her side when she could rock this gorgeous dress without goose bumps!! Talk about luck of the draw!

Their session took place within Patapsco Valley State Park, outside of Baltimore, Maryland. As I encourage all couples to pick a session location that is particularly meaningful, this park happens to be where Gabby & Ryan shared their first date! Reliving memories, we walked down some paths, along the water and posed on the bridge— just see how gorgeous these two look!

Gabby & Ryan,

From the moment I saw Gabby’s smile on our Zoom call, I knew it was meant to be! You two have the kindest of hearts & it makes me so excited for your wedding day, when I get to see you two again. These next few weeks left will go quickly. Enjoy it & embrace it. It’s the last time you’ll be a fiancé! Until May…

Hugs,

Ashley
